Fog City Entertainment has been recognized as one of the best wedding vendors of 2008 by recent brides. "The Knot Best of Weddings magazine" had an independent third party conduct a survey of more than 21,000 recent brides around the country and based on the feedback, Fog City Entertainment was added to this prestigious list.
Our listing in the magazine featured the following summary of the feedback that the brides provided:
"The DJs at Fog City Entertainment win brides over because they are "flexible, experienced, and fun." Their dedication to customer service and satisfaction shows in their music policies that allow couples to specify musical selections, guide the dress code, and make additional suggestions. "He was great!" "He didn't take over the microphone, only made annoucements when neccessary, and had everyone's requests." "The best thing about this honor is that it was purely based on the opinions of our clients, and that really makes me proud." said Fog City Entertainment owner Russ Catanach, "All of us at Fog City Entertainment would like to thank those who voted for us and all of our clients for this honor."

 Fog City Entertainment DJ Russ Catanach provided the music for a "Dancing with the Stars" themed event at the Westin St. Francis Hotel that featured Mark Cuban (pictured with Russ) and dancer Kym Johnson.
Mark Cuban is the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Chairman of HDNet & HDTV Cable Network and was a contestant on the fifth season of ABC's popular "Dancing with the Stars".

On April 1st, 2008, Fog City Entertainment will be providing the music for the Oakland A's home opening pre-game reception at McAfee Coliseum. This is the fourth year in a row that Fog City Entertainment will be a part of the season kick off festivities. In addition to the home openers, Fog City Entertainment has DJ'd for the team's game parties after each of their post season games in 2006, as well as fan fest and various charitable events.
The game will be against the Boston Red Sox and will be shown locally on Fox Sports Network. Go A's!

Twelve Years ago, Fog City Entertainment performed at it's first event. Back then, the name of the company was different but the message was the same. The simple business principle of listening to the client and exceeding their expectations was finally applied to the DJ world.
In early 1996, founder Russ Catanach sketched out business idea's and wrote a business and marketing plan for what would eventually become his full time career. That year he would perform at a dozen events including a large listener party for K101 radio and his first wedding for couple named Shannon and Jeff.
Initially the company had no name and to get events, Russ just marketed his own name "DJ Russ Catanach". Because of the difficulty many people spelling his last name, he decided to give the company the name "Russ Rocks DJ Services", after a nick name Russ had received while working in radio.
With the new name and lots of word of mouth business from satisfied customers, the company began to grow and would soon bring on several DJs. Mike Santillian, Danny Wright, Joe Romagna and Alex Sauceda would be among the first to take on events with Russ.
By 2002, the company was regularly performing nearly every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the year in multiple locations throughout the Bay Area. More DJ's joined the line up and the company was now being referred by hundreds of clients, vendors, and venues. The company also began providing other entertainment service options including casino nights, live musicians and lighting. To reflect the changes, the company became "RussRocks Entertainment".
After years of entertaining under the name RussRocks, the company adopted the name "Fog City Entertainment" officially in 2004. "The new name sounded more professional." said Fog City Entertainment President Russ Catanach, "The new name also better reflected our growing group of DJs. We were no longer just a one man operation."
Fog City Entertainment Incorporated in 2005 and now performs at over 300 events a year throughout California, including The Bay Area, Monterey Peninsula, Napa Wine Country, Sacramento Area, the Delta and throughout the LA Area. Fog City Entertainment DJ David Carvalho was selected as the DJ for pop star Christina Aguilera's wedding to music executive Jordan Bratman. On November 18, 2005, DJ David performed at the Asian theme wedding rehearsal dinner. The next night Christina and Jordan took a walk down the aisle.
Christina is the latest of many celebrities that Fog City Entertainment has worked with. Some of the other celebrities that our DJs have worked with include NBC Tonight Show host Jay Leno, Magician's Penn & Teller, Celine Dion, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, and Natalie Cole.

Scion Motors, the presenting sponsor of "The Emerging Artists Tour" named Fog City Entertainment DJ, David Carvalho, "The Best DJ in San Francisco".
Scion Motors selected elite DJs from around the country to be a part of their 2005 tour and then asked attendees to select the best in each city by voting online at the end of the tour.
"It's really no surprise to me. As soon as I found out that he was nominated, I knew that he would win." said Fog City Entertainment Inc. CEO, Russ Catanach, "David is a great guy and great DJ. He truly deserves this award and this honor. I congratulate him and I know that he will continue to stand out from all the other club DJs in San Francisco."
David was invited to join the tour last year and has performed at several events as a part of it. The tour, presented by Scion Motors (A Toyota Motors Company), travels from city to city with a select group of elite DJs from 14 cities across the nation including New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
As the winner, David will be flown to the World Music Conference in Miami next March to receive his award and to represent Scion Motors.
David has been with Fog City Entertainment, Inc. since 2001 and has performed at thousands of events for us. In addition to his work with us, he performs regularly at Loft 11, Key Club, Blue Tattoo, Suede, Ruby Skye, Prive, Dolce, Suite 181, and Whisper.'
